Adding Service Descriptions

A clear service description helps people quickly understand what is offered, how long it takes, and why it is worth booking. As I was saying, a good description can do more for bookings than a fancy logo ever will.

Open services

  1. Log in to Appointible.

  2. Click the profile picture in the top-right corner.

  3. Click Services.

Navigate to Services

Select a service

From the list on the Services page, pick the service that needs a description.

Select service to edit

Add the description

  1. In the service editor, find the Description field.

  2. Type a short, clear explanation of what is included in the service, who it is for, and any important notes (for example, preparation steps or what to bring).

  3. Use simple language and keep it focused on what helps people decide to book.

A helpful structure is:

  • What it is: A one-sentence summary.

  • What is included: Key steps or features.

  • Timing and results: How long it takes and what people can expect afterwards.

Control online visibility

The service description is shown on the online booking page when the service is Visible online.

  1. In the service editor, make sure Visible online is enabled if the service should appear on the booking page.

  2. Optionally, adjust Is duration visible online? if the duration should be shown together with the description.

  3. Click Save to apply the changes.

On the booking page, people will see the service card and can click View details to open the full description and details.

Tips for better descriptions

  • Keep it short and scannable – 3 to 5 short sentences are usually enough.

  • Highlight what makes the service different or special.

  • Mention any requirements (arrival time, preparation, age limits, etc.).

  • Use the same tone across all services so the menu feels consistent.
