Extending Clients With Fields

Sometimes the standard client fields are not quite enough. Custom fields help track extra details like allergies, membership IDs, or that very specific coffee preference that keeps clients loyal for years.

Open Fields

First step is to open the Fields library, where all custom fields live.

  1. Go to appointible.com and log in.

  2. Click the profile picture in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Fields.

Navigate to Fields

Create Field

Now it is time to add a new field that will extend client records with extra data.

On the Fields page:

  1. Click Create field.

Click Create field

Configure Field

This is where the new field gets its name, type, and behavior. As I was saying, a common example is an allergy field so services can be adjusted safely.

  1. In Field name, type a clear name, for example Allergies or Membership ID.

  2. Choose the Field type (for example, Text input for free text, or another type that fits best).

  3. Select the checkbox to make the field Visible in client details.

  4. Optionally, add a short Description to explain what should be entered in this field.

  5. Click Save.

Configure custom field

Open Clients

Next step is to use the new field on actual client records in the Clients section.

  1. In the left sidebar, click Clients.

Open Clients list

Select Client

Now a client can be chosen to fill in the new field.

  1. On the Clients page, click a client name to open Client details.

Open client details

Edit Details

Client details need to be in edit mode so the new field can be filled in.

  1. In the Client details panel, click the pencil icon to Edit client.

Edit client details

Fill New Field

Time for the fun part – adding the actual data to the new field.

  1. Find the newly added field in the client form.

  2. Enter the information, for example: Allergies: Peanuts.

  3. Click Save.

Fill new custom field

Review Client Info

After saving, the new field appears together with the rest of the personal client information, ready to be used in daily work and client lists or segments later on.
