Avoiding Duplicate Texts
Appointible includes a simple safeguard in SMS settings to prevent sending too many marketing messages to the same person in a short time. As I was saying, nobody enjoys feeling like a phone is under a text avalanche.
Plan requirements
Marketing features, including this protection against duplicate texts, are available only on the Appointible Pro plan. To check or upgrade the subscription, open Billing from the main menu.
Opening SMS settings
Sign in to the Appointible account.
Click the profile picture in the top-right corner.
Select SMS settings.
That page controls how Appointible handles SMS marketing, including smart sending, quiet hours, and how often the same person can receive a marketing text.
Setting the time gap
In SMS settings there is a control that defines how much time must pass before the same client can receive another marketing SMS.
Find the option that controls the minimum time between marketing messages to the same person.
Choose the preferred time gap (for example, 24 hours, 12 hours, or another value that fits the marketing strategy).
Click Save Changes to apply the new setting.
By default, Appointible uses a 24-hour gap. That means if a campaign is sent from Campaigns in the morning and another campaign is scheduled for the afternoon, the same client will only receive the first marketing text within that 24-hour window.
What this affects
Marketing messages β Campaigns sent from Campaigns, automations that send promotional texts, and similar marketing activity will respect this time gap. If multiple campaigns target the same client inside that window, only the first marketing SMS is sent.
Reminders and transactional texts β Appointment reminders and other non-marketing messages are not blocked by this setting. Those will still be delivered so clients do not miss appointments.
Practical tips
Keep at least a 24-hour gap for general marketing to avoid fatigue and opt-outs.
Plan campaigns in Campaigns with this window in mind so different promotions do not compete for the same client on the same day.
If a more intensive promotion is needed (for example, a short flash sale), consider shortening the gap temporarily, then increasing it again afterward.
With a well-chosen time gap, marketing stays visible without turning into that friend who texts every five minutes.
