The SMS Marketing addon unlocks a dedicated business SMS number, two-way messaging, SMS campaigns, automations, and also enables Advanced SMS Reminders for appointments.

Benefits

Before starting onboarding, it helps to know what becomes available with the SMS Marketing addon.

  1. Dedicated business number – a unique telephone number is assigned so clients can save it and instantly recognize who is texting.

  2. Two-way SMS inbox – messages are sent and received directly in Appointible, and a shared inbox lets any team member reply quickly from one place.

  3. SMS campaigns – marketing campaigns can be sent to all clients or to specific lists and segments for promotions, new services, special occasions, and discount campaigns.

  4. Automations and keywords – with the SMS Marketing addon enabled, it becomes possible to use Automation Keywords, QR codes, and auto-respond messages to capture interest and reply instantly.

  5. Smart sending and quiet hours – SMS sending can respect local time zones and quiet hours configured in SMS Settings, so messages do not arrive at 3:00 AM with the subtlety of a fire alarm.

  6. Advanced SMS Reminders – once onboarding is complete and the dedicated number is active, it becomes possible to use Advanced SMS Reminders for appointments, with more flexible timing and messaging options than standard reminders.

Onboarding Steps

SMS Marketing addon onboarding has three main parts: enabling the addon, submitting business details for 10DLC compliance, and waiting for approval and number assignment. After that, SMS settings can be reviewed and adjusted.

  1. Enable the Appointible Pro Plan and SMS Marketing addon.

  2. Submit business and SMS use case details for 10DLC registration.

  3. Wait for approval and dedicated number assignment, then review SMS settings and start using campaigns, conversations, and advanced reminders.

Step 1 – Enable the addon

To start, the account needs to be on the Pro Plan with the SMS Marketing addon enabled.

  1. Open Billing.

  2. Upgrade to the Pro Plan if it is not already active.

  3. Enable the Appointible SMS Marketing addon to unlock two-way SMS messaging, text marketing, and advanced SMS reminders.

Once the addon is active, onboarding for SMS Marketing can begin.

Step 2 – Complete 10DLC details

Telecommunications partners in the US require 10DLC (10-digit long code) registration for business SMS. This keeps deliverability high and spam complaints low.

To comply with 10DLC rules, some information is needed about the business and how SMS will be used.

  1. Open the Appointible SMS Marketing onboarding form: Appointible SMS Marketing Onboarding Form.

  2. Provide company details that match legal records, such as legal name and type of legal form. These can be reviewed in Account Settings.

  3. Describe the SMS use case – for example, appointment reminders, promotions, or loyalty offers.

  4. Share example SMS messages that might be sent, including any links or opt-out instructions (for example, “Reply STOP to unsubscribe”).

If any detail is unclear or missing, the Appointible team will reach out to clarify before submitting the registration to telecom partners.

Step 3 – Brand review and number

After the onboarding form is submitted, the Appointible team reviews the details and registers the brand and SMS campaign with telecom partners.

  1. Brand registration is submitted based on the provided company information.

  2. A dedicated telephone number is assigned for SMS Marketing.

  3. The onboarding process typically takes 5–8 working days to complete, depending on telecom review times.

  4. If more information is needed at any point, the Appointible team will get in touch to confirm details about text messaging, telephone numbers, or company information.

Once approved, SMS Marketing is ready to use for conversations, campaigns, automations, and advanced SMS reminders.

Step 4 – Review SMS settings

After the dedicated number is active, it is a good idea to review SMS settings before sending the first campaign – a bit like checking mirrors before driving off.

  1. Configure smart sending and quiet hours in the local time zone so marketing messages are sent at reasonable times.

  2. Review opt-out and consent keyword settings to stay compliant and make it easy for clients to stop receiving marketing messages.

  3. Provide any additional information requested in the SMS Settings page to keep 10DLC registration up to date.

Once SMS Settings look good, it is possible to start sending campaigns from Campaigns, manage all campaigns in Campaigns All, and configure Advanced SMS Reminders for appointments.

Fees

SMS Marketing has a one-time registration fee and a small monthly maintenance fee for the dedicated number, in addition to SMS usage costs.

  1. Brand and telephone number registration one-time fee: $99.00 USD.

  2. Monthly telephone number maintenance fee: $4.00 USD per month.

SMS sending costs, campaign costs, and any additional usage fees are shown directly in Appointible when creating and sending campaigns from Campaigns or reviewing all campaigns in Campaigns All.
