Scheduling Text Messages

Two-way SMS conversations, including scheduled messages, are available only on the Pro plan with the SMS Marketing add-on enabled.

Open the Inbox

First, open the Inbox from the left side panel. This is where all SMS conversations live and where scheduled messages can be created and managed.

Open Inbox

Select a conversation

In the Inbox All, Inbox My, or Inbox Unassigned view, click a conversation with the client who should receive the scheduled SMS.

Select conversation

Start scheduling

  1. Write the SMS in the message box at the bottom of the conversation.

  2. Click the small arrow down next to the Send message button.

  3. Select Schedule message instead of sending it immediately. This tells Appointible to hold the message until the chosen time, instead of firing it off right away.

Open schedule options

Choose time and time zone

  1. Select the date and time when the SMS should be sent. I recommend double-checking this if the message is time-sensitive, like reminders or follow-ups.

  2. Choose the client’s time zone. This keeps messages from arriving at 3:00 AM, unless that is the plan, in which case I will not judge.

  3. Click Schedule message to confirm. The message is now queued and will be sent automatically at the selected time.

Set date, time, and time zone

Identify and manage scheduled SMS

In the conversation, scheduled messages appear in a slightly different color and show that they are scheduled instead of sent. This makes it easy to see what is planned versus what has already gone out.

Scheduled message appearance

If a change of plans happens, the scheduled SMS can be canceled before it is sent. Open the conversation, find the scheduled message, and use the Cancel send option so it does not go out.

Plan and upgrade tips

If two-way SMS or scheduling options are not visible in the Inbox, I recommend checking the subscription in Billing. Two-way SMS and scheduling require the Pro plan and the Appointible SMS Marketing add-on to be enabled.
