Creating marketing lists
Accounts on the Appointible Pro plan can use SMS Marketing features to send campaigns to specific groups of clients. A marketing list is the starting point – it defines who actually receives those text messages.
I recommend setting up clear, focused lists (for example, “VIP Clients” or “New Clients”) so campaigns stay relevant and clients stay happy instead of quietly opting out.
To let clients subscribe to marketing messages automatically using a QR code, check this guide: Create a QR code for SMS marketing subscriptions.
Check plan and access
Marketing lists are available only on the Appointible Pro plan and require the SMS Marketing add-on to send text campaigns.
To confirm access:
Open Billing and check that the Appointible Pro Plan is active.
In the same page, confirm that the Appointible SMS Marketing add-on is enabled.
If the SMS Marketing add-on is not enabled, follow the prompts in Billing to upgrade and activate it.
Open audience lists
Create a new list
On the Lists page, click Create list.
Enter a clear List name, for example:
“SMS – Promotions”
“SMS – Appointment Reminders Opt-in”
“VIP Clients”
Optionally, add a short description so it is easy to remember what this list is used for.
Click Save.
After saving, the list appears in the Lists table with details such as:
List name
Number of subscribed clients
Creation date
Add clients manually
Clients can subscribe to marketing lists in several ways. One simple option is to manage subscriptions manually from the Audience page.
Select clients in audience
Open Audience.
Use search or filters to find the clients that should receive marketing messages.
Select one or more clients using the checkboxes on the left.
Assign or remove from list
With the clients selected, click Assign to list to subscribe them to a marketing list.
To unsubscribe, click Remove from list instead.
When assigning, pick the correct list in the dialog and click Assign.
Check subscription in client details
To see which marketing lists a specific client is subscribed to:
Open Audience and click the client name.
In the client details panel, look for the Marketing section on the left.
If the client is subscribed to one or more marketing lists, the list names appear in green in this section.
If the client is not subscribed to any marketing list, nothing appears under the Marketing section.
Next steps
Once a marketing list is ready and has subscribers, it can be used to send SMS campaigns from Campaigns or Campaigns All. I recommend starting with a small test campaign to a limited list segment, checking the failure rate and cost of campaign, and then scaling up when everything looks good.
